SYS has developed a demo model to showcase the capabilities of Stratasys 3D printers. We call it Case Closed.
People new to 3D printing often ask how the technology compares to traditional methods like SLA. As a result, we have printed this model on a Desktop 3D printer and produced the same part on an SLA system.
As you can see, the 3D printed model outperforms traditional SLA for capabilities.
The Objet printer significantly outperforms SLA in surface finish. The Desktop Range’s 28 micron print layers produce a smooth effect when compared to SLA’s 50 micron layers. This means a prototype perfect for form, fit and functional testing.
Furthermore, Case Closed takes under 2 hours to 3D print, whereas an SLA would take 6 hours.
So, when choosing between the two technologies, we believe that the verdict is Case Closed.
