This event will showcase the latest developments in 3D printing technologies for medical applications, which will one day transform current practices.
Dr Will Shu, from the University of Strathclyde’s Department of Biomedical Engineering, will provide a thorough overview of the University’s 3D bio printing expertise as well as current capabilities in producing tissues and organs for medical transplantation, personalised medicine and drug development.
Following Dr Shu’s introduction, there will be talks from both a clinical professional and an industry expert, aiming to shed light on the importance of 3D printing for medical technologies. Firstly, a pioneer in the area of Computer-Assisted Surgery (CAS), Professor Frederic Picard- Orthopaedic Consultant at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital (GJNH) will discuss the clinical benefits and uses of 3D printing within the medical industry.
This will then be followed by James Cross, Technical Sales Engineer at Stratasys’ Platinum Partner in the UK, SYS Systems, who will be on hand to discuss the impact that Stratasys 3D printing technology is having on the medical industry.
