How SYS UK and Majestic Smile Are Scaling Digital Dentures with the Stratasys J5 DentaJet
At SYS UK, we are committed to helping dental laboratories adopt technology that increases capacity, protects quality and makes the move into new services practical rather than painful. A strong example of this is our work with Majestic Smile Dental Laboratory, owned by Lino Adolf, a 98% digital lab that has built its reputation on crown and bridge, cosmetic and diagnostic work and is now expanding into digital dentures.
A Small Team Built Around Digital
Majestic Smile runs lean. Jessica, a dental technician, handles much of the design work. Carlos, Lino’s father-in-law, takes care of finishing, polishing models and dentures. Anita supports setups, models and the day-to-day production, and Lino’s wife and business partner Mara runs the admin, invoicing and shipping for every client. With a team that size, any technology the lab brings in has to remove work rather than add to it.
One Printer, Every Device, No Waiting
For Lino, the case for the J5 DentaJet comes down to what it does rather than what it is. Most dental 3D printers run one material at a time. If a machine is tied up printing temporaries, nothing else can happen until that job finishes. The J5 removes that bottleneck by printing multiple materials in a single job, so models, surgical guides, temporaries and gingiva masks can come off the same tray together.
“If I want to print multiple medical devices, I’m able to do that with Stratasys,” he says. “I don’t have to wait for one print to finish to start another one.”
Because every device is produced with the same resin system in one build, the lab also avoids the cross-contamination concerns that come with swapping resins between jobs. Accuracy, which Lino describes as the biggest benefit of going digital, stays consistent across implant models and surgical guides where precision matters most.
Simplicity and Scale on the Lab Floor
Digital dentures are the new venture the J5 was bought for. Traditional printed dentures mean producing the base and the teeth separately, bonding them by hand and correcting the result after curing. With TrueDent on the J5, Majestic Smile prints the full denture as a single monolithic piece, with no assembly step and no bond line to fail.
The multi-shade capability is what makes the output clinically useful. Lino can specify different shades across the arch within one print, for example A1 on the incisors, A2 on the canines and A3 on the premolars, as long as the design carries the separate shade information. The result is a denture that arrives ready to finish and fits accurately, reducing chairside adjustments for the dentist.
Cleaner, Faster and Easier to Run
Since adding the DentaJet, the lab floor has become noticeably cleaner, with no resin spills, fumes or heavy safety procedures around washing and post-curing. Parts come off the tray cured and ready to use, which frees the team for the finishing and design work that actually adds value. Automated nesting and support placement mean setup is quick, and the compact footprint suits a lab that does not have space to spare.
A Future-Proof Investment for the Lab
For SYS UK, supporting labs like Majestic Smile reflects a wider aim: giving technicians the tools to add capacity and new services without adding headcount or complexity. By bringing multi-material PolyJet printing into daily production, Majestic Smile has been able to open up digital dentures as a new line of business while keeping its core crown and bridge and cosmetic work running on the same machine.
As Lino puts it, for anyone who wants to save time and produce high-quality medical devices, the J5 is the one to have.
