SYS Systems is thrilled to announce that two new apprentices have joined the service team this week.

Charlie Smith and Hugo Caine have joined as Apprentice Service Engineers to get their first experiences of working life and get first-class training in their pathway to becoming full-time engineers.

Charlie follows a well-trodden pathway in his family by joining the servicing ranks. His dad, Matt, and uncle, Mark, are both long-standing members of the service teams for SYS Systems and sister company OGP UK respectively, but Charlie is looking forward to forging his own career with SYS Systems having heard about the Apprenticeship Scheme via the Careers Fair at Chellaston School.

A big Derby County fan, Charlie is eager to get to grips with the latest 3D printing technology.

“I’m excited to join the company and to get some real-world work experience under my belt. I’m looking forward to experiencing new things and I am determined to become the best Service Engineer in my family!”

Hugo has a T-level engineering diploma from the JCB Academy and is looking forward to putting that into practice.

Hugo has an interest in 3D printing and is excited about the the future of the technology and the impact it is going to have.

In his spare time, Hugo enjoys keeping his engineers’ hat on by working on cars, and he is also a big football fan, supporting Stoke City.

“I’m really looking forward to starting with SYS Systems. I have a passion for 3D printing and the way the technology is advancing all of the time is incredible. I can’t wait to get hands on with the Stratasys machines and experience real-world engineering scenarios.”

Matt Fulton, Managing Director of SYS Systems’ parent company, the Carfulan Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Charlie and Hugo to the group. It is an exciting time for growth for the company and we are looking forward to seeing the how they can play their part in that, as well as developing their own skillset and careers.”

Everyone at SYS Systems would like to welcome Charlie and Hugo and wish them all the best in their new roles.
